Therefore the strong people will glorify You; The city of the terrible nations will fear You. For you have been a strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shade from the heat; For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. Isaiah 25:3-4 NKJV
When we see all these natural disasters around the world, are we ignoring the message that Jesus has for us?
Although I can't profess to have all the answers, I think it's only natural to see all the natural disasters going on around the same time and wonder if Jesus is giving us a message? He quite possibly is, but are we heeding it?
In Matthew 13:14-15 NKJV, it says: "And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says; Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; for the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.'
Verse 16 NKJV says: "But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;"
I also take solace in the part of the Bible verse at the top that says: For you have been a strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shade from the heat; and feel the importance to focus on Jesus as our Lord and Savior, trusting Him through all of this, but not just putting our faith on the back shelf someplace when the disasters subside.
What Do Our Actions Say When Jesus Calls Us? Sometimes, the lack of action conveys more than we imagine, but there's still time to make changes! Yeah, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for Thee; the Desire of our soul is to Thy name, and to the remembrance of Thee. Isaiah 26:8
