When We Don't Know What to Do, What Does Jesus Want from Us?
The Epistle of James says in 1:5- 6 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who give to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
So, when I pray asking for Jesus' guidance in a matter, I need to pray in a way that conveys that. I might say, "Dear Lord, I don't know which decision to make in this particular situation, but You, O Lord, do. Please guide me and have me open to only making the decision that You want and not what I might want. Please make me gracious in my interactions with the others involved and give me the willingness to listen to Your guidance. I ask this in Jesus name if it is Your will. Amen."
