If Push Came to Shove, Would We Really Be Able to Stand Up for Our Faith in Jesus?
In reading, I have been inspired about how the apostles and disciples of Jesus were willing to be persecuted and many tortured and killed for their faith. What would I do in the same situation?
In Romans 8:2-3 it says: For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh.
I think this passage tells me that the disciples realized that although the legal system could take their lives, God gave them eternal life in Heaven with Him, because they believed in Jesus Christ His Son. Jesus gave His live for us and rose again, conquering all our sin and death if we believe in Him.
