When We Are Fearful About What Is Going to Happen to Us Financially, Are we Trusting in Jesus?
Sure, it's easy to get caught up in fear about what is going to happen to us financially. I've done it myself. I eventually am brought back to the idea that if I am fearful, then I am not trusting Jesus to take care of me.
Does that mean that my finances and everything else will be just the same as before we ever had a pandemic? No. Trusting Jesus to take care of us, doesn't mean we are going to have steak every night. It doesn't mean that we will have a well-paying job with lots of perks. It doesn't mean that our bank accounts will be healthy, so that we, as a nation, can go back to worrying about getting the newest, the best of the next Smart Phone, etc.
Faith in Jesus does mean that He will be there right beside us through thick and thin. He will be there to comfort us, when we need it most. He will be there to provide our basic needs, but it doesn't guarantee that they will be at the same level as before. If you are beside yourself if you can't have all that you had, you may have made those possessions a false god in your life. Things should not be more important that your faith in Jesus and your family. Maybe, this is a time for all of us to get our priorities straight!
There is no fear in love; but perfect love cast out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18
What Do Our Actions Say When Jesus Calls Us? Sometimes, the lack of action conveys more than we imagine, but there's still time to make changes! Yeah, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for Thee; the Desire of our soul is to Thy name, and to the remembrance of Thee. Isaiah 26:8
