Sure, it's easy with COVID-19 in our country, to develop a "Live for today, for tomorrow may never come,"attitude and it may be easy to see why some might adopt this attitude. It's scary when you think that some might be missing the boat.
It can be easy to get caught up in a party-hardy lifestyle, thinking that if you might die from the virus, you might as well go out with gusto, but what does it say in the Bible?
1 John 5:9-13 says: If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him[,] a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life." and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
So, if I'm only going to be here for a short time, I'd want to have my ducks-in-a-row with my faith in Jesus rather than focused on partying with my friends. My faith in Jesus will eventually lead to salvation in heaven, where partying with your friends might lead to being exposed to COVID-19, but if you've let your faith lapse, where will you be?
What Do Our Actions Say When Jesus Calls Us? Sometimes, the lack of action conveys more than we imagine, but there's still time to make changes! Yeah, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for Thee; the Desire of our soul is to Thy name, and to the remembrance of Thee. Isaiah 26:8
