When Asked Why You Celebrate Easter, Do You Talk About the Easter Bunny or Big Family Meals?
Sure, these are easy things to say to others, but are we giving Jesus Christ the respect He deserves after all He did for us? Jesus, the Son of God, lived a lowly life in order to give His life and arise again, so that those who believe in Him, could someday join Him in heaven.
This doesn't do justice to all that Jesus had to go through on our behalf. He knew in advance that He would be betrayed by one of His disciples and denied by another. In fact, Jesus told them in advance all of this, so that it would serve as additional proof to the disciples that He really is the Son of God.
Additionally, besides knowing this, Jesus knew that He would be questioned, hit, mocked, spit upon, scourged and humiliated by being hung on the cross to die for the very people He was giving His life to save. Knowing all of this in advance, Jesus didn't decide to bow out of His Salvation Plan to free us from our sins, but He went through all of this for us!
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And Son as Savior of the world. 1 John 4:12-14
What Do Our Actions Say When Jesus Calls Us? Sometimes, the lack of action conveys more than we imagine, but there's still time to make changes! Yeah, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for Thee; the Desire of our soul is to Thy name, and to the remembrance of Thee. Isaiah 26:8
