But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 1 John 2: 11
Jesus doesn't want us involved in hating others, nor does He want us to live in darkness that blinds us. Here are a couple of other Bible passages that reinforce this:
Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou
shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge
against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself: I am the LORD. Leviticus,
Chapter 19, verses 17-18.
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass
against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times
in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou
shalt forgive him. Luke, Chapter 17,
verses 3-4.
We love Him, because He first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. 1 John 19-21
